Plantvale's guides are here to help you keep plants alive and thriving, not to game a search engine. Here is how we work.

Research and accuracy

We build each guide from horticultural and botanical sources and, wherever we can, from growing the plant ourselves and watching how it actually behaves. We give specific light, water, soil and propagation advice, and we are clear when a method is simply one gardener's way of doing things rather than a rule.

Updates and corrections

Plants, seasons and products all change, so we revisit and refresh our guides instead of just restamping the date on top. If you find an error, let us know through our About page and we will fix it.

Independence

Our recommendations are made on merit, never in exchange for payment, and no brand can buy its way into a guide. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how the site is funded.

Not professional advice

Our guides are written for home growers and are not professional horticultural advice. Plant identification can be tricky and lookalikes are common, so when a plant's identity or safety is in any doubt, confirm it with a specialist before you act.
